Implant Centers of America Launches Clinician-Led Implant Dentistry Platform Across Six States

Nine dental offices and two business units unite under a single platform advancing minimally invasive, accessible implant dentistry

FORT LEE, N.J. — August 14, 2026 — Implant Centers of America (ICOA) today announced the closing of the transaction that brings together nine dental offices and two business units under a single clinician-led platform dedicated to implant-supported restorative dentistry. The Company is represented in New York, New Jersey, Kentucky, Missouri, Colorado, and Hawaii.

ICOA was formed by a founding group of premier implantologists, each of whom built a successful practice independently and each of whom retains ownership in the combined company. Rather than a traditional roll-up in which practices are absorbed, ICOA was structured so that founding doctors remain owners and clinical decision-makers, with a shared services platform behind them.

“Every doctor in this group could have kept doing exactly what they were doing and done very well,” said Rodman Rodriguez, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of ICOA. “They joined because building something together — shared protocols, shared infrastructure, shared purchasing power, and a real seat at the table — creates something none of us could build alone. That entrepreneurial independence is not something we’re asking anyone to give up. It’s the reason this works.”

The platform is anchored by a mission to impact lives through minimally invasive, accessible dentistry — empowering dentists and their teams to deliver exceptional care, support patient wellness, build strong, value-driven practices, and foster a culture of positivity, collaboration, and innovation.

“Restoring a person’s ability to eat, speak and smile is about far more than replacing teeth — it can restore health, confidence and dignity,” said Todd E. Shatkin, DDS, Co-Founder, Chairman and Chief Clinical Officer of ICOA. “ICOA is the next chapter of that work: scaling the minimally invasive principles I’ve spent my career refining through a national organization built on education, advanced technology and evidence-based protocols. The goal is to give more patients access to care they never believed was possible.”

Alongside its clinical practices, ICOA includes two business units. Mini Dental Implant Centers of America (MDICA) is a turnkey practice-development and licensing program that grants general dentists exclusive local territories and brand rights, supported by clinical training and mentorship, case consulting, guided-surgery and lab workflows, patient-financing pathways, and ongoing practice coaching — serving as both a growth engine for independent practices and a development pathway for clinicians who may eventually join ICOA. Ellis Advertising produces and places the Company’s marketing, including television commercials and long-form infomercials, print and direct-mail creative, and media buying at the local market level for individual offices.

Together with centralized revenue cycle management, procurement, accounting, and operational support, these capabilities form a robust platform for growth — designed to onboard additional practices without diluting clinical quality or local practice culture.

“I’ve placed and restored over 20,000 implants, and every one of them started with a patient who thought they were out of options,” said Thomas Baggett III, DDS, founder of Springfield Mini Dental Implants. “Joining ICOA doesn’t change how I practice. It gives me a bench behind me — protocols, purchasing, education, people who’ve solved the problems I’m solving — so I can spend more time doing the part only I can do.”

ICOA intends to add practices from an identified pipeline of implant-focused clinicians, sequencing additions to match integration capacity.

The Company’s vision is to become one of the nation’s leading networks of dental practices by evolving implant dentistry, achieving measurable growth, and sustaining a culture of collaboration — setting a new standard in dental excellence for every patient, team member, and community it serves.

ICOA’s operating values are Growth, Purpose, Culture, Excellence, Independence, Empowerment, Impact, Leadership, and Integrity.
